This applies to menopause patients only. Once you have completed your initial menopause consultation and two follow-ups, you can move onto ongoing care if you would like continuity rather than paying appointment by appointment.

Prescription fees sit outside the membership so that the monthly cost stays the same for everyone. How often a prescription is needed varies a great deal from one woman to another, and folding it in would mean charging more each month to those who rarely need one.

Your first consultation fee includes one follow-up email if questions come up within eight weeks. Beyond that, further email correspondence may be charged. If there are a lot of questions, Dr Hazel will often suggest a follow-up appointment instead, because complicated things are better talked through than typed.

Skin tags, warts, verrucas, seborrhoeic keratoses and similar benign lesions are assessed free of charge. You only pay if you go ahead with removal.

The consultation fee is not redeemable against the cost of treatment. Your £50 booking fee is deducted from whatever you pay on the day, whether that is a consultation or a treatment.

This is a medical weight management service, not a prescription service.

Your monthly cost covers clinical assessment and supervision, structured nutritional guidance from a doctor, lifestyle support, prescribing where appropriate, and ongoing review. All of it is included, because all of it is necessary.

Losing weight rapidly without proper nutritional support costs you muscle as well as fat. That matters at any age and it matters a great deal in midlife, when muscle mass is already falling and bone density is changing. Protecting muscle, strength and long-term metabolic health is part of the plan from the start, not an afterthought.

A health screen tells you where your health actually stands. Blood pressure, weight, blood sugar, cholesterol, kidney and liver function, thyroid, iron and vitamin levels, and whatever else is relevant to you. The point of it is not the numbers, it is having someone go through them with you and explain what they mean and what to do about them.

There is no single price, because there is no single screen. What you need at 38 with a family history of diabetes is not what you need at 55 on HRT. Dr Hazel works out which tests are worth doing based on your symptoms, your history and your family history, and agrees it with you before anything is booked.

Three worked examples, so you can see the real figure rather than a starting price:

• Basic Screen — £268 in total. £40 appointment, £78 bloods, £150 results consultation.
• Standard Screen — £323 in total. The most commonly chosen option, covering full blood count, kidney and liver function, cholesterol, diabetes, inflammation, iron, vitamin D and a full urine test.
• Women's Health Profile — £500 in total. The fullest picture of metabolic, bone and cardiovascular health, including lipoprotein(a) and apolipoprotein B, which are not part of a standard NHS cholesterol check.

Nothing is added without being discussed with you first.

If you are on ongoing menopause care, having your blood taken at the clinic is included in your monthly fee, and your results are discussed at your usual follow-up. You pay only for the tests themselves.

If you are already coming in for a menopause, women's health or dermatology appointment, screening results can often be discussed at that appointment rather than needing a separate one. Just say so when you book.

A £50 booking fee is taken when you book. It is not an additional charge and comes off the cost of your consultation on the day.

If you need to cancel or rearrange, please give at least 48 hours' notice. With more than 48 hours' notice the booking fee can be moved to a new appointment or refunded. With less than 48 hours' notice, or if you do not attend, it is retained and a new booking fee will be needed to rebook.

All fees are self-pay. Menopause care is not usually covered by private health insurance, because insurers generally treat it as a natural life stage rather than a medical condition.
