Blood and Urine Tests
All testing is carried out by Nationwide Pathology, a UKAS accredited laboratory registered with the Care Quality Commission. Most results come back the same day or the following day.
Results come to Dr Hazel first. She reviews them herself and goes through them with you, so you get an explanation rather than a set of numbers and a reference range. A copy can be emailed to you for your own records on request.
Having your blood taken
The cost of taking the blood is separate from the cost of the tests themselves.

Urine ACRA urine test for the albumin to creatinine ratio, which picks up protein leaking from the kidneys. Kidney damage of this kind causes no symptoms in its early stages, and a standard blood test for kidney function will not always find it. What is not included
These prices cover the tests themselves. They do not include having the blood taken, which is charged separately, or the consultation where your results are discussed.
If you are an existing patient on ongoing menopause care, blood taken at the clinic is included in your monthly fee. The laboratory cost of the tests is not.
Not sure which test you need?
That is what the consultation is for. Ordering tests without knowing what question you are trying to answer usually produces numbers that are hard to interpret and occasionally alarming for no good reason. Dr Hazel will work out what is worth testing based on your symptoms and history, and will say so if the answer is nothing.
